Story Of Javed
In 1997, Javed Ahmad Tak was paralyzed after being shot in the spine. After being bedridden for three years bedridden, he began taking home tuitions for children and founded the Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education, providing free education to over 200 children with disabilities in Srinagar.
In 2023, following cancer and the amputation of both his legs, Javed's life became even more challenging. Rise Bionics created a custom assistive device to help him regain mobility, including a modified wheelchair with reinforced support. Now able to sit comfortably for the first time since his surgery, Javed is back to teaching, continuing his mission with newfound independence.
Inspired by Javed, we extended our work to his students, fitting 77 prosthetic and orthotic devices at his school free of cost, as part of our Help a Child Walk Campaign.
